Outrageously goofy, the Gloria Gooney Bird Bamboo Chime sways her girlish head to a beat of rhythmic hand-tuned bamboo chimes. A girl through and through, this copyrighted hand-made chime by Asli Arts features a prettily painted head, red lipstick lips, dangling earrings, long, long eyelashes and even pink painted toenails! Her marionette head bobs up and down from a pink heart frame and her coconut husk fiber wings are thrust coquettishly upwards. Gloria measures approximately 14" x 10" and hangs approximately 40" long. Hand-made in Bali. Every chime features the mellow, earth-inspired tones unique to resonating bamboo tubes. Each Woodstock chime is hand-tuned by a trained artist-musician who whittles each tube to the perfect pitch, repeatedly tapping each bamboo tube as he carves until the sound is just right. Then our artisans select a range of tube sizes that when combined and touched by gentle breezes, create a deep resonating sound. Bamboo tubes emit notes based on size, large tubes produce lower tones and smaller tubes emit higher-pitched sounds. By hand-tuning each tube, then selecting a range of sizes, each Asli Arts chime produces a melody unique to itself. I just decorated our living room in an African Theme and the crane wind chime fits perfect. It arrived in a short amount of time and I was able to track when it would come. It wasn't damaged and is fun to have hanging in the corner or our living room.
